While there is NOTHING like a batch of stovetop popcorn cooked in coconut oil and slathered with liberal amounts of good melted butter and salt, there are times you want to cut to the chase (ie the butter and salt and eating part) a little quicker than that method allows, without resorting to the cancerous chemical-laden wasteland that is commercial microwave popcorn.
So how awesome is it that you can just pop (haha) some kernels in a brown paper bag, with or without a little oil, and turn on the microwave till the popping slows? We made a good-sized bowl for two in just under three minutes, using an old grocery bag and 1/4 cup of organic popcorn kernels.
How is there an entire microwave-popcorn INDUSTRY when this is true?!
