We've been parking the car on the street all weekend per the recommendation of the kindly officer who responded to the vandalism. During the week that street parking converts to 2-hour parking, so this morning we went out to move it just before we left and lo and behold, the battery was dead. Obviously neither of us had time to figure out how to jump it or otherwise move it, so I called the city and they were (not surprisingly) totally unsympathetic. They told me I could expect a few $100 tickets by the time I got home--if I'm lucky. If it's still there at rush hour, they'll probably tow it.
