After 24 hours of travel from Iowa, my mom is finally here :) She got in this afternoon and we made pizzas (mushroom and onion with pesto, and a Mediterranean pizza with an olive oil and garlic base, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, Kalamata olives, and feta cheese) and then took a scenic driving tour of Reston and Washington. Our plans for the weekend include Mt. Vernon, Harper's Ferry, The Botanical Gardens, and the Library of Congress. It should be lots of fun, and we'll post pictures as we take them!
